Humanitarian Crisis in Ukraine: Current Status as of February 6, 2025
Ukraine continues to face severe humanitarian challenges due to the ongoing war and its long-term consequences. According to the latest data from the United Nations, more than 12.7 million Ukrainians require urgent assistance. Among them, 9.2 million people have limited access to healthcare services, while 3 million are in critical need of medical support.
Medical Crisis and WHO’s Funding Appeal
The World Health Organization (WHO) has reported that at least $110 million will be required in 2025 to sustain Ukraine’s healthcare system. These funds are needed to provide hospitals with essential supplies, deliver emergency medical assistance, and restore damaged medical infrastructure.
Global Support for Ukraine
The international community continues to provide aid to Ukraine:
- Azerbaijan has allocated $1 million for purchasing and delivering electrical equipment to affected regions.
- The United States provided Ukraine with $6.5 billion in non-military aid during the 2024 fiscal year, with $6 billion channeled through USAID to support humanitarian efforts.
- France has already invested over €434 million in humanitarian projects, including direct support for civilians and funding for social initiatives.
Children and Civilian Population at Risk
According to UNICEF, two-thirds of Ukrainian children have been displaced, either internally or abroad. Many are in urgent need of security, stability, and psychological support to cope with the ongoing crisis.
Urgent Need for Continued Assistance
Despite the significant efforts of international organizations and governments, Ukraine’s humanitarian situation remains dire. The country’s infrastructure has suffered massive destruction, and millions of people continue to face shortages of food, medicine, and basic necessities.
The Infrastructure Restoration Charitable Foundation (IRCF) remains committed to supporting Ukrainian communities most affected by the war. We call on international partners, donors, and volunteers to join our efforts to provide essential aid and help rebuild lives.
